Update: Police Investigate Possible Homicide in North Attleboro
Police were back at the North Attleboro Industrial Park Tuesday morning. They are investigating after a man's body was found in a rural area behind businesses at 433 John L. Dietsch Blvd. Investigators are treating the death as a possible homicide.
A teenage jogger stumbled across the lifeless body around 5:30 p.m. and ran to a nearby business to have them call 911. One of the workers tells ABC6 the body was of a black male in his 30's and that he could not immediately see any injuries. The worker said the body did not appear to have been there very long.
It is unclear whether the body had been dumped in the area or the person had died at the site.
Details of the death were not immediately released, but the DA's office says based on the "nature and circumstances" of the discovery, the death is under investigation.
The DA's office is not releasing many details at this time which has left those who work in the park with more questions than answers. Many feel on edge.
"That's kind of dangerous," said one woman.
"It's ironic that it would happen in North Attleboro. It's a quiet town. You never hear anything bad," said another.
Police have located a black Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island plates possibly connected to the death. The car was a rental from Enterprise.
The victims name has not been released at this time.
