Providence, RI- Rhode Island is getting a bad reputation as the state where people hate going to work. Whether you work indoors or outside, carry a brief case, or wear an apron; not everyone loves his or her job.
Rhode Island is one of ten states going under the microscope in the "State of the American Workplace Report."
The study says Rhode Island's high unemployment rate plays into the problem. It also cites poor work environment as a reason for people to be dissatisfied.
"The number one reason why people feel disengaged is their boss, their supervisor," said Rhode Island College's School of Management Dean, David Blanchette.
Blanchette said, "Their boss might be difficult to work for, might be unfair, might be unclear in the expectations. I don't think I have to go on, and on about what a bad boss is because we've all had one."
The report also finds that thirty percent of American workers are excited about their jobs. That's an improvement since the worst of the recession.
