A man on the witness list in the Whitey Bulger Trial was found dead in Lincoln Massachusetts on Wednesday.
The body of 59-year-old Stephen "Stippo" Rakes, an alleged extortion victim of James "Whitey" Bulger was found in a wooded area on Mill Street.
Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body and the body has been sent to the Medical Examiners office for an autopsy.
Rakes claimed that Bulger along with associate Kevin Weeks threatened him at gun point forced him to sell his liquor store to the Winter Hill Gang for $67,000.
On Tuesday the prosecution gave the judge a list of their remaining witnesses and Rakes was no longer on the list.
