Cumberland Mayor Dan McKee says he intends to run for Lt. Governor in 2014.

The Democratic mayor filed a Notice of Organization with the board of elections on Tuesday. He says this will prompt a formal announcement later this year.

McKee is in his sixth term as Cumberland's mayor.

The news comes a day after Secretary of State Ralph Mollis told the Providence Journal he intends to run for the Lt. Governor.

So far no Republicans have thrown their hats in the ring.
