NEW YORK- The Electric Zoo Festival, a three day music festival in New York, has been canceled after two concertgoers died and four others were hospitalized over drug related causes.
The New York Times is reporting one of the concertgoers that died is 20 year old Olivia Rotondo, of Providence. The other is a 23 year old man from New York. Their deaths appear to be linked to the drug MDMA, which is also known as ecstasy or molly. Definitive causes of death have not yet been determined.
The event's founders expressed condolences on its website to the families of those who died.
The festival has been held since 2009. According to The New York Times, it drew more than a 100,000 people last year.
