The first lady of Rhode Island was one of eleven women honored for accomplishments and achievements by the YWCA Thursday in Lincoln.

Stephanie Chafee was recognized for her work as one of the first nurses in the state to work exclusively with HIV and AIDS patients and for setting up a free health clinic in Providence for the un–insured.

Chief operating officer with RI's YWCA Meghan Grady states: I think it's important that other women know the accomplishments and achievements of other women, you know women are usually the last ones to celebrate their own accomplishments, so at the YWCA we're doing it for them.

Each of the women honored made contributions in industry, culture or public service.
