A man arrested for sexual assault and possession of the popular street drug "molly" was ordered held without bail in Providence District Court Monday morning.
22-year-old Joshua Morales was arrested on Saturday night after almost colliding with a State Police cruiser. State Police say Morales abruptly changed lanes in front of the cruiser and the officer had to slam on his brakes to avoid collision.
When they approached the vehicle State Police said they could smell burning marijuana and noticed a young girl in the passenger seat and a ten inch samurai sword in the back seat.
The 14-year-old girl said that Morales had picked her up to bring her to visit his brother and mother but on the way had sexually assaulted her. She also told police he had stuffed a bag of 10 "molly" pills down her shirt and asked her to lie to police about her age.
Morales's mother said her son was innocent and that the girl, who had dated her other son, had a history of lying.
