Taunton Police are warning residents of a man who has broken into several homes, groped a sleeping female and stole valuable possessions.

Police say several break-ins have occurred overnight in the areas of Barnum, Clinton, and Winthrop Street. The suspect has entered the homes through unlocked doors and windows.

Inside the man has made physical contact with a sleeping female regardless of whether she was sleeping next to someone. Police say he has stolen jewelry from many of the homes.

In the most recent incident police say he sexually assaulted a female and when confronted said he was homeless and looking for food before fleeing the home.

He is described as a stocky white male with dark hair and a light beard.
