A 6-alarm mill fire broke out around 5:15 Thursday night at the Carrington St. mills in Lincoln.
The fire could be seen for miles as it engulfed an approximately 100-year-old mill building used for storage.
People from all over the neighborhood gathered to watch the orange ball of fire and thick smoke.
The fire was mostly in a vacant part of the building, and parts of that structure did collapse.
Lonsdale Fire Chief Timothy Griffin says water problems were an issue but luckily they were able to pump water from a nearby pond.
