PAWTUCKET, RI- It was an explosion that shook a Pawtucket apartment located on Mineral Spring Avenue.
Two floors are exposed, and you can see furniture and debris hanging from the triple-decker.
A couple and their infant daughter who live on the third floor, we're told by the Mayor of Pawtucket, may have been cooking during the explosion.
The man received third-degree burns over 70-percent of his body.
The baby girl was burned but, her injuries are being compared to sunburn.
The mother, we're told was inside the shower at the time and she was not injured.
A first floor resident, is one of the many being credited for saving that family.
"My daughter and my girlfriend got out of the apartment then I went back inside to check to see if anyone was on the second floor. Me and this other guy kicked the door down; nobody was there. Then, we went upstairs and then another guy got them out upstairs and then I grabbed the baby and I ran outside," said rescuer, Eric Silva.
National Grid shut off the power and gas to this building and also did a full sweep of the neighborhood for a possible gas leak. Investigators have not determined a cause of this explosion.
Residents who were evacuated are now back in their homes.
The Red Cross has stepped, providing food and clothing for displaced residents.
