Burrillville football game honors late coach

It was a somber day in Burrillville as the community paid tribute to a longtime football coach and booster.

A moment of silence was observed before the start of Saturday's East Greenwich-Burrillville football game.

Players, coaches, and fans bowed their heads in tribute to longtime football coach and "Grid Iron" President Dave "Bucky" Hebert, who died unexpectedly this week.

Hebert played high school ball in Burrillville, and for decades he was a coach and mentor to kids in the community.

Gennaro Ferraro, Burrillville Head Football Coach, says,"Bucky was an amazing human being who - you know - dedicated his life to helping the boys of Burrillville. And not just in football, but in all sports."

Hebert's jersey number "10" was painted in both end zones today, with roses placed in his memory.

All players wore his initials "DH" on their helmets.

He would have been proud...the football game was amazing.
