It was a cold and windy night at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for the match up of the quarterbacks. The New England Patriots pulling of a comeback victory that has fans buzzing with excitement this morning.
For a time it seemed like all was lost. By the end of the first half the Patriots trailed Peyton Manning and the Bronocs by more than three touchdowns. That's when many New England fans called it quits and went to bed. But the Patriots would rally and send the game into overtime.
New England fans waking up in disbelief this morning.
"Unbelievable. I would have lost that bet," said Steve Emery of Rockport, Mass who went to bed at the half thinking the Pats had lost the game. "I couldn't [stay up]. I had to get up… at 3 in the morning, so I would have liked to have seen it, but I couldn't watch it last night."
"You knew it was going to be a good game," said Howard Crabtree of Johnston as he got his Monday morning coffee. "I mean it certainly didn't start out that way but the result is what was desired."
The Pats won 34- 31.
For those who did stay up to watch it was a late night. The winning filed goal was kicked just before 12:30 Monday morning.
