A Tiverton couple suspected in a phony fundraising scam has been arrested in Spring Hill, Florida.

31-year-old Aaron Gelinas and 28-year-old Kimberly Leverett were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly having their three children collect money for a phony fundraiser.

Earlier this week Police searched the couple's home in Tiverton and found nobody inside the residence but noted the home was kept in an unsafe condition.

The couple is charged with three counts of neglect of a child, obtaining money under false pretenses, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The couples three children ages 4, 8, and 12 are currently in state care in Florida.
