Warwick first graders Talk Turkey, Thanksgiving

Posted: Updated:

First graders in Warwick celebrate Thanksgiving with a feast of their own and some catchy turkey songs.

While we there, we asked them what they think Thanksgiving is all about and how you're supposed to make a turkey. As you'll see, they have a little different take on traditional turkey day cooking.

The first graders at Randall Holden Elementary school in Warwick had a busy day before their Thanksgiving break, celebrating the holiday with their own feast.

"We're celebrating Thanksgiving."

"It's like a tradition."

"It's a special holiday."

They even dressed the part as if they were at the very first Thanksgiving!

"Thanksgiving is about the pilgrims coming to America"

"The Indians taught the Pilgrims how to plant food because they didn't know how."

"The Indians and Pilgrims became friends."

Along with learning about the holiday, the kids also know it's a time to give thanks. And while they are thankful for so much, they are already excited about their Thanksgiving dinners with their families.

Happy Thanksgiving!
