Black Friday is just hours away, and the Rhode Island Department of Health is reminding retailers of the safety concerns during the shopping bustle.

Health officials visited businesses around the state to discuss the best way to manage crowds coming out for "door buster" sales.

Some of the precautions include having trained security, setting up rope lines or barricades that aren't right in front of the entrance, clearing and unlocking exit doors, and discussing emergency plans ahead of time.
