PROVIDENCE, RI- A Providence police cruiser was involved in a car crash in Olneyville. Both cars caused damage to a Bank of America.

It happened around 12:30 Sunday.

Witnesses say the police cruiser hit a red car at the corner of Valley and Broadway Streets. That caused the car to hit the side of the bank and caused the cruiser to hit a pole.

The pole then went crashing into the bank's front window.

Robert Malin witnessed the crash. He said, "I was standing across the street and the officer was coming around this corner kind of fast. And the next thing I heard was a pop. The officer came and got out of the car and I assume that he went over to ask the people that were in the other car, how they were."

Both drivers went to the hospital. No word on their conditions.
