PROVIDENCE, RI- At the state house, a ceremony honored a Pearl Harbor survivor from Cape Cod.
Daniel Hunter was a part of the U–S Navy when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
At 19–years–old, he was Morse code operator. Hunter was inside his bunk reading the Sunday paper when he heard the planes attacking over–head.
He still remembers the panic of that day.
"My memory gets a little bit faded every year. You know, I can remember mostly everything probably. The little details I can't but I certainly remember the attack and what we did. It was kind of a shocking morning that's for sure," said Hunter.
A special navy re–enlistment ceremony also took place today at the state house. Carlito Wilson is a 12–year navy officer who has served over seas, including Kuwait. Wilson has re–enlisted for another 6 years.
