Vandals are the new target in New Bedford. The city unveiled a tool that can erase graffiti in minutes and a new way you can help catch those doing the dirty work. It's called eco–quip.

The 30,000 dollar piece of machinery can remove graffiti like this in minutes, from various surfaces like concrete, brick and wood.

New Bedford's Mayor is calling on residents to help report the problem by downloading a free app called NB connect to your smart phone.

Here's how it works. Simply snap a pic of the graffiti report where in the city it is and crews will come out and remove it. If it leads to the vandal, residents will get a 500 dollar reward.

If you don't have a smart phone you can go to the city's website to report it or call the department of public works.
