PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) A state grand jury has indicted a 19-year-old on a murder charge for allegedly shooting a man to death while he was working on a vehicle in his driveway.
The Rhode Island attorney general said Thursday that Judier Dixon was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence and possession of a pistol without a license.
Authorities allege Dixon shot 46-year-old Richard Arenas of Providence in June while Arenas was outside his house in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. Dixon fled the state and was captured in Alabama in July. He has been held without bail.
Dixon is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Dec. 16.
