Southern New England is getting ready for what's expected to be the biggest snow storm to hit our area this season. Because of the timing and it being just weeks before Christmas, people at the Lincoln Mall were out trying to get the weekend shopping out of the way Friday Night.

Ronald Showes says "So were trying to get it done before the snow storm hits you know, because it gets here tomorrow so were trying to get everything done tonight."

With the worst of the storm expected for Saturday evening, many are rearranging their weekend plans.

Cathy Garsons said, "Well my sons got a track meet and that got moved up to earlier so that's why we're running around Tonight because were not going to be able to do it tomorrow."

It wasn't just a Christmas shopping frenzy Friday night.

John Dennis said, "were getting food for the weekend so that we can hunker down and not have to go anywhere."

Dennis is getting all the ingredients for a warm chicken pot pie.

"It could blow over, it might not even be that big of a storm, but why take the chances. We'll just get the shopping done tonight,"he said.

There is of course, an upside to all the rushing around before the storm, Mathew Caranci can't wait to enjoy it.

"I'm going to play in it and probably throw it at my brothers and probably eat a little bit I like it," laughed Caranci.
