Providence school ransacked, Christmas gifts, technology equipment stolen

Providence Police are looking for a Grinch who stole over 60 gift bags meant to be Christmas presents for middle school students, 50 laptops, more than 20 tablets, and 7 projectors, from the Sophia Academy.

The all-girls middle school services low-income girls from Providence.

According to school officials the thieves stole all of the schools technology.

In addition the thieves destroyed the faculty offices.

Police believe the incident occurred on Dec. 13. When officials at the school were notified of the break-in Monday morning students were sent home.
