An East Providence U-Haul was evacuated on Thursday after a forklift operator struck a gas meter causing natural gas to seep into the building.
Firefighters responded to the U-Haul at 740 North Broadway shortly after 11 a.m.
The gas was quickly contained and national grid was able to repair the leak. Workers were able to return to the building a half an hour later.
