A 20-year-old Providence man is being held without bail after being arrested for possession of heroin with intent to deliver and eluding a police
Around 12:30 Thursday, East Greenwich Police Detectives noticed an apparent drug deal in a Post Rd parking lot.
When detectives approached the vehicle, the suspect, Steven Lenis, fled and was later arrested. During the short pursuit, Lenis ingested 14 bags of heroin. Detectives also seized $1,400 cash.
Lenis was treated at Kent County Hospital and arraigned Friday where he was ordered held without bail. He will appear in court on Monday.
