State Police have arrested one suspect and are now looking for the public's help in finding the second wanted for two armed robberies.

Along with Coventry, West Greenwich, Cranston, and Warwick Police, Troopers are trying to locate the suspect pictured who allegedly robbed convenience stores in Coventry and Cranston early Saturday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., two suspects with handguns robbed the Shell on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston. One hour later, the XtraMart on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry was robbed by two individuals matching the same description as the first robbery.

Witnesses gave police a vehicle description and shortly after the second robbery, Coventry and West Greenwich Police tried to stop a vehicle matching that same description. When it refused to stop, a short chase ensued. Then, State Troopers saw the vehicle speeding down 95 where it lost control on the Route 117 exit ramp in Warwick.

Both suspects fled the scene, abandoning the car and leaving the handgun inside.

An extensive multi-agency search began with State Police and Warwick K-9 units along with a helicopter from Massachusetts State Police.

Soon after, one suspect was arrested inside a Dunkin' Donuts in Warwick. He is identified as Monchi Castillo, 23, of Springfield, Mass.

Castillo was arrested for Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, Carrying Dangerous Weapons or Substances when Committing a Crime of Violence, Possession of Firearms by Criminals and Fugitives and  Conspiracy (2 Counts). He was arraigned and held without bail at the ACI.

The other suspect remains at large and may be armed. He is described as about 5'10" and was last seen with a black North Face jacket, light grey or brown pants (possibly sweatpants), and brown shoes.

The same suspects are believed to have committed similar robberies in Uxbridge and Grafton Massachusetts.

Anyone who sees any suspicious activity, especially around buildings on their property, is asked not to approach the area but immediately call 911.
