Search organized for missing Brown University student
By Alana Cerrone
Family and friends of a missing Brown University student are organizing their own search party Sunday afternoon.
21-year-old Marion native Dana Dourdeville was last seen leaving his home on Tuesday afternoon to go duck hunting. He brought along a kayak.
When he didn't return home his mother went looking for him and found his car parked at West Island town beach in Fairhaven, Mass.
Officials have been looking for him since, but searches were halted because of the weather Thursday and Friday.
Family friend Bill Tilden posted a call for help on his Facebook page, saying that he and others spent the past couple of days looking for Dourdeville in the horrible weather conditions, and now that the forecast looks more mild, they are asking for more help.
His call for help ended up going viral, attracting so many willing volunteers that he asked others to spread out over shorelines from Westport to Woods Hole.
Family and friends are convening at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the West Island parking lot in Fairhaven.
