FAIRHAVEN, MA- Nearly 200 people gathered today to resume the search that was suspended a couple of days ago due to weather.
Volunteers searched over a mile of shore line for 21–year-old, Dana Dourdeville.
On New Years Eve, Dana set off in his red kayak to go hunting for ducks.
Volunteer, John Tumiski said, "We wanted to help out the family and all the friends and we just really feel for everyone, you know that's a part of this."
Dana's kayak was found over 2 miles away.
"They haven't really found much. Whether it's a glove, you know there's a life preserver they still haven't found. Whatever we can find is a help," said Tumiski.
With temperatures dipping below zero, it's feared that if Dana did not find shelter, he likely did not survive.
"If anyone could make it out of this, Dana could. The kid was literally the closest thing to being perfect. We used to call him Jesus," said friend, Alex Calise.
Although optimistic, his friend says it's hard knowing he hasn't been found.
Dana is expected to graduate Brown University next semester.
