In a special session of the Cranston City Council on Thursday, two councilmen will call for the State Police to step in and investigate what they call a parking ticket scandal.
Councilors Steven Stycos and Paul Archetto will propose the resolution asking State Police to conduct a special investigation into overnight ticketing by Cranston Police.
Stycos and Archetto said the ticketing was targeted at certain wards because they refused to vote for a new police union contract.
After the incident was revealed Cranston Mayor Allan Fung hierd and out-of-state investigator to review the matter.
