A snowy owl injured at Quonset Airport has now fully recovered

The Snowy Owl pictured here was hurt at the airport back on November 26, suffering 3 fractures to her right wing.

The Wildlife Clinic in North Kingstown evaluated the owl before sending it to the Born to be Wild Nature Center in Bradford.

Once she fully recovered, crews decided it was time she be set free. Thursday morning, she took off in the 25 degree weather – perfect for a snowy owl – at a deserted coastal beach.

Sunday, they plan to release another snowy owl that was rescued in downtown Providence.
