It was quite a struggle Friday afternoon in East Providence after a deer gets himself into an icy situation.
The deer fell into the river near Bullock's point; firefighters went out and put it onto a sled.
A firefighter had to lay on top of the deer to keep it still once they got to shore, they covered the deer's eyes and tied its legs together to keep it calm.
Captain Jack Kellehan from the East Providence fire department says the initials call came in as a reported possible person that fell through the ice on the river and when they arrived it was a deer, the Chief says the department protects life, animals and people.
The DEM is examining the deer and if it appears ok, they'll release it back into the wild.
