PROVIDENCE - They came in guns blazing. Three men robbed Manton Multiservices at gunpoint while threatening the employees in Spanish.
They forced two women to their knees and marched a man to the back of the store before locking
him in the bathroom -a gun at his back the entire time.
"I felt so afraid I thought they were going to shoot us," said the store owner, who preferred to remain anonymous.
Victims of the robbery are shaken up. They still can't believe they were assaulted inside their
small family business, the first time since opening it five years ago.
"It just happened like, real fast, like we didn't even
notice. I was doing something on the computer when they came in saying 'this is
a robbery!'" said the owner.
$1,000 cash, $500 in cell phones, and
$300 in jewelry was taken.
A glass display case was also broken.
"We're scared to be at work," said the store owner. "I don't want to be here, I
don't even want to be here today at work, I'm dying to leave."
They aren't alone. Other businesses in the area are now
concerned that something similar could happen to them.
"Two other business owners have been through similar
situations in the last two months so... I don't know, maybe I could be next. I
don't know what can happen," said the owner of a nearby business, who also asked to remain anonymous.
The owners here are planning on beefing up
security, they'd like to add an alarm system in case anything like this ever
