Dozens of restaurants in Providence are extending this years restaurant weeks.
More than 30 of the 75 restaurants participating will extend the event until at least January 25.
Officials say restaurants have extended in the past, but more are choosing to do so this year because the event is falling earlier than usual.
"We did our restaurant week a little bit earlier than we usually do," said Kristen Adamo, The Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Providence Warwick Convention Visitors Bureau. "Usually it is very close to the time leading up to Valentines Day, so because there is more of January that they could possibly extend it, I think they did."
The regularly scheduled restaurant week ends this Saturday and started back on January 5.
