Voters in Woonsocket will head to the polls Tuesday for the District 49 primary.
Three democrats are vying to fill the House seat left vacant by Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt.
The candidates are Michael Morin, Douglas Brown and Mark Chenot.
"I know how it works; I know how the calendar works. I know how committee assignments work. I know how the budget originates in House Finances. I don't need training wheels," said Brown. Brown is a former Woonsocket School Committee Member.
"I've been in Woonsocket for many years now. Everybody knows things aren't going well. I said what the heck I'll give it a shot," said Chenot.
Chenot, who is a physical therapist, says he is not a politician, but thinks he can make a difference.
Michael Morin was not available to speak with ABC6, tells "The Valley Breeze" he's focused on business and keeping Rhode Island competitive with the neighboring states.
The general election is set for February. However, the winner will be running unopposed.
