The Rhode Island State Police were out responding to car accidents and calls for help during Tuesday night and Wednesday morning's snow storm.
The storm slowed the evening commute and is expected to do the same on Wednesday morning.
State Police are urging people to stay off the roads as much as possible.
"It's treacherous for us to go out. Our first responders have to go out to deal with these conditions so we'd rather not have them in harms way," said Lt. Col. Michael Winquist.
Lt. Col. Winquist says extra troopers will be on the road during the storm.
RIDOT says they have about 300 pieces of equipment on the road and will adjust as the storm continues into the morning hours.
If you have a problem on the road call 911.
