29 volunteers braved the conditions to help shovel out others in need during the snowstorm that swept across Rhode Island Tuesday and Wednesday.

Serve Rhode Island says the volunteers shoveled out driveways, walkways, and steps for 65 elderly and disabled residents. One volunteer took on six jobs - and several others took on three or more volunteer assignments.

More help is still needed, though. The organization asks that volunteers who couldn't make it out Wednesday, come out Thursday to help finish the snow clean up.
