After two years without a tax day rally the Rhode Island Tea Party is planning to bring back the rally on April 15.
The event is in the initial planning stages but it will be scheduled to take place at the State House. The matter was discussed at a statewide meeting of the Rhode Island Tea Party on Thursday.
The Tea Party hosted three tax day rallies from 2009-2011 but in 2012 and 2013 the Tea Party changed its focus to legislative issues and put the rally on the back burner.
In the past hundreds gathered on the State House lawn to protest tax increases in Rhode Island.
