UPDATE: Two lanes of 95 South are now open after accidents in area of exit 12. The scene should be cleared shortly.

Drivers were being warned to avoid 95 South as crews worked to clear two accident scenes near Exit 12, one involving a State Trooper.

Around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon while a State Trooper was involved in a routine traffic stop in the breakdown lane of 95 South, two motor vehicles were involved in an accident nearby in the high speed lane.

Shortly after that crash, two other vehicles were involved in an accident in the right lane closest to the breakdown lane. One vehicle rear ended another causing it to strike the trooper's cruiser. As a result the cruiser was forced forward and struck the trooper.

The trooper has been brought to the hospital to be checked for injuries but appeared to be unharmed.

It caused major delays on 95 South.
