The driver of a tractor trailer that rolled over on Route 24 and burst into flames is expected to be okay.
The has been identified 46-year-old Lisa Korch of Danielson, Connecticut. According to Massachusetts State Police, she is suffering from what are believed to be non-lifethreatening injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.
Around 7:15 a.m. Monday morning the tractor trailer truck carrying over 11,000 gallons of gasoline rolled over on Route 24 and went up in flames. The truck, owned by J.P. Noonan Company, was completely engulfed in flames and the highway had to be closed in both directions for hours as firecrews attempted to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and Clean Harbors were on scene this morning addressing the environmental impact of the crash.
