Two common DMV transactions just got a whole lot easier for Rhode Islanders.

Governor Chafee announced today that drivers can now log online to change their address and check their status.

To change an address online, users can just log onto www.dmv.ri.gov and enter the information requested. The new address is updated at no charge, and drivers can simply write their new address on the back of their license and registration.

Drivers can also check their status to learn if they have any outstanding financial obligations.

All DMV online services are listed here:  http://www.dmv.ri.gov/services.
