A good Samaritan saves the driver of a burning truck Monday morning.

The driver of a tractor trailer that rolled over on Route 24 and burst into flames is expected to be okay.

Jesse Gomes of Westport helped pull the driver from the truck.

"I saw as I took the turn a big line of fire, didn't know what it was at first until I drove up a little more and realized it was a truck rolled over in the embankment," said Gomes.

He jumped right out of his car and ran over to the truck.

"Somebody was trying to crawl out of the cab thru the windshield and I started screaming out what's in the tanker and she screamed out it's gas and at that point didn't really think just reacted," said Gomes.

The has been identified 46-year-old Lisa Korch of Danielson, Connecticut. According to Massachusetts State Police, she is suffering from what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.

Around 7:15 a.m. Monday morning the tractor trailer truck carrying over 11,000 gallons of gasoline rolled over on Route 24 and went up in flames. The truck, owned by J.P. Noonan Company, was completely engulfed in flames and the highway had to be closed in both directions for hours as fire crews attempted to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and Clean Harbors were on scene this morning addressing the environmental impact of the crash.

In the meantime, Gomes doesn't consider himself a hero.

"I hope that someone would have done that if that was my mom or my loved one, family whatever," said Gomes.

He hopes to someday meet Korch.
