Two animal shelter workers were attacked Tuesday morning by a pit bull at the North Kingstown Animal Control Shelter.

The pit bull was taken in January 23rd by two volunteers because the owner, a homeless man, wasn't able to keep the animal out of the cold.

Both volunteers' sustained injuries, one had injuries to the right leg and hand, the other to the right arm. Both were treated at a local clinic.

Police say the dog will be quarantined for ten days and most likely be returned to the owner after that.
