Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead in NYC apartment

Officials say Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York City apartment Sunday.

Police say his body was found in his Manhattan apartment in the West Village. He was 46 years old.

The New York City Police Department is investigating, and the Medical Examiner will determine exact cause of death.

According to NYPD sources, there was evidence of injectable drugs found at the scene.

Hoffman won the Best Actor Academy Award and the Golden Globe Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his leading role in the 2005 film, "Capote".
