Start your snow blower. The race is on to clean up and dig out yet again.

The snow fell fast and furious. The flakes hit the city of Woonsocket like a wall. Several inches blanketed the bustling community in just a matter of hours. The fast paced storm made it difficult for highway crews and commercial plow drivers to keep up. Homeowners, too, felt the wrath of old man winter who refused to cooperate.

"I'm out here and five minutes later the snow is piled right back up again," said Scott Landry of Woonsocket. "Very frustrating."

By late morning 8 to 10 inches of snow was dumped in North Smithfield. Cars parked on back roads became buried. Jason Paul decided to get a head start on shoveling his walkways, but the Slatersville man had his work cut out for him.

"It's heavy- heavy snow. There's a little bit of rain mixed in there. It's compacted it down and it's getting heavy," said Jason Paul. "Very back breaking."

While many northern Rhode Islanders are taking the snow in stride others say this latest winter storm may be the last straw.

"My wife wants to move but I guess a vacation sounds a little bit better than a permanent move I guess," said Landry.
