Thursday's snow was not exactly opportune for local florists and chocolate shops who count on the day for valuable business before Valentine's Day.
Though despite the weather, Sweenor's Chocolates in Cranston was filled with many customers in the afternoon.
"If it was not snowing then the line would be out the door. I still think the line will be out the door later today when the snow stops," said Joyce Kettelle an employee at Sweenor's Chocolates.
The day before Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days of the year in the chocolate industry and customers ABC 6 News caught up with say they're not letting the snow keep them from getting their holiday goodies.
"You can't go home without them," said Barbara Pierce.
"You don't know my wife, she said wait until July my birthday but I know she wants it now," said Tom Brierly.
Elsewhere, a local florist in Providence is getting everything ready for the big day trying not to let the winter weather get in the way.
"We've got deliveries out today and it is definitely causing problems, you know it is not insurmountable problems as we are getting out ahead of the worst of the storm," said Jeffrey Kerknoff the owner of Jephry Floral Studio.
Kerknoff says he does anticipate the snow will make tomorrow even more hectic.
"A lot of people are not here picking up flowers now or taking care of ordering flowers now so tomorrow will be sort of doubly busy," said Kerknoff.
