One local man is offering up some Valentine's Day advice to make your relationship better. The advice comes from Johnston resident Michael Silvia's newly published book, "A Handyman's Guide To Women."

"It's meant for helping guys understand what steps they can take to improve their relationship," said Silvia.

The driving force behind the 34-page book is Silvia's wife Michaela who urged her husband to write it. The couple has been together for more than a decade.

"Because of some of my past experiences those little things would have made a big difference. And he does them so automatically that I felt that if it was written down somewhere that these are nice tips even if it was a list of just tips and suggestions on how to better your relationship... it would benefit a whole bunch of people," said Michaela Silvia.

"If she can see that you can show her that she's the most important thing to you then that'll go a long way," said Michael Silvia.

So what's Michaela's favorite piece of advice?

"My favorite part that he does do is rub my feet on the couch. It's the most awesome thing when your just relaxing," said Michaela.

And of course beyond the relationship advice in the book are some handyman tips from fixing a leaky faucet to replacing a light switch because this book is geared for men.
