One man is charged and two are hospitalized after an early morning assault in Pawtucket.

Around 1:30 Saturday morning, a Pawtucket officer spotted a fight outside the Wendy's at 120 Broad St., and immediately pulled into the parking lot.

As soon as he pulled up, three men got into their car and fled from the scene.

The officer found two victims who were beaten with a bat – a 38-year-old Pawtucket man and a 29-year-old Woonsocket man – and they were sent to the hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries.

Police later found the suspects' car and arrested one of the three suspects, 31-year-old Edwin Hernandez of Central Falls, and charged him with two counts of felony assault.

Pawtucket Police are now asking that anyone with information on the other two men call Detective Doran at 401-727-9100.
