FALL RIVER, MA- Workers at the D'Angelo Sandwich Shop located at President Avenue and North Main street in Fall River have been waiting in the dark for hours after their own delivery truck took down two power poles around 10 this morning.

D'Angelo employee, Mathue Days said, "Because of the wires that were hanging, when our delivery truck came in, the wires got caught on the smoke stack to the delivery truck and dragged the poles down with it."

Fall River police say they did respond to an earlier accident in which another car hit one of the poles first, but no one was injured.

"I guess she just hit it by accident cause there was no body around or anything. It was just her car and the pole."

Police did not issue citations to either drivers of the car or tractor trailer, but say they are still investigating.

A few surrounding businesses say because of this accident, they've lost money.

"Yeah, everything was down. We couldn't even open the cash register. No gas, we couldn't sell inside and cigarettes or tobacco, anything," sad Shell gas station owner, Tony Saade.

Shell did have power restored after three and a half hours, however they are still without phone and cable.
