FALL RIVER, MA- People in Fall River are sharing their thoughts on police officers carrying narcan. Everyone we spoke to has either dealt with drug abuse or knows someone else who has.

They say if police officers are allowed to carry it, it could help save lives.

Lori Cardoza overdosed at age 26. She said, "If they came with that first, the police, I would have been brought back right there and then."

Hilary Parker said, "If you're against abortion, then you should be for narcane cause every person counts."

"You know, actually a buddy of mine just got out the hospital not too long ago. He was in a coma for a while for a drug overdose. Something like that would have really saved him cause he almost died on the way to the hospital," said Richard Rioux.

Many affected by addiction say it's an illness. They're not trying to kill themselves, but with more potent drugs on the streets, it's just one factor them to overdoses.
