All was quiet outside 'Alex and Ani'" world headquarters, one day after the company's well known CEO was ousted.

Giovanni Feroce says it was a difference in management style.

"No, the company is not in trouble at all. I mean there are so many growth opportunities," said Feroce in a phone interview with ABC6 News.

ABC6 Chief Political Reporter Mark Curtis said, "The departure of Giovanni Feroce comes at a time when Alex and Ani was experiencing extremely rapid growth in sales around the world."

Company owner Carolyn Rafaelian and Feroce expanded into coffee shops, vineyards and Newport mansions.

There will be a nationwide search for his successor.

"So you know the next person, better measure up because I am a shareholder," said Feroce.

But there were troubles. A lawsuit by a former company attorney alleging sexual discrimination, drug use, tax evasion and unpaid legal bills.

Feroce told ABC6 anchor Doreen Scanlon, that's not why he and the company parted ways:

Scanlon Question: Does this have anything to do with that litigation?

"I don't believe so, you know, but at the end of the day, I'm sure those kinds of things don't help. And you know, provide opportunities for those who might want to make change, to use those sorts of crutches, as far as excuses."

A West Warwick native Feroce has no plans to leave the Ocean State.

"Yeah, absolutely I am a Rhode Islander, I love Rhode Island. And this is my home," said Feroce.

As a former member of the General Assembly Feroce did not rule out another venture into politics.
