Rhode Island's drug problem is getting worse.
Since January, 69 people have died from overdoses.
On Friday, a community forum was held in Warwick to try and come up with ways to tackle the growing epidemic.
Many people told personal stories of their own battle with drugs, including a police officer who recently lost his brother to the disease.
Chris Fernier says, "No one wakes up one day and says ‘I want to be a heroin addict'. I think we need to start young and educate these kids and that's the key."
Right now, the overdose rate is three times more than it was in 2010.
