A Fall River woman is fighting for her life after being pulled from a burning house early Monday morning. Two people were home when the flames broke out at 117 Fulton St. A man was able to escape but the woman was trapped inside.

Crews were called to the home just before 2 am. They were met by heavy flames. A man had gotten himself out to safety but a woman was still inside. When rescuers found her the woman was burned, unconscious, and didn't have a pulse according to District Chief Scott Flannery.

The woman was rushed to Charlton Hospital and then to Rhode Island Hospital with possible life threatening injuries. Firefighters say at some point the woman did regain a pulse.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by local and state officials with the fire marshals office.

The house has significant damage.

No update on the woman's condition is available at this time.

The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
